In today’s newsletter: The Xbox app was kinda leaked - at least we can assume it is coming soon, update on the coming Netflix games, Children of Morta has opened pre-registrations, and developers reveal struggles with Apple Arcade payments.
🎮 Xbox Mobile Gaming App Store web page pops up, might debut through the Xbox Insiders program
Xbox.com now features a page specifically made for the mobile app store, that they have been teasing for so long. Check it our here. It looks as if this will be first available through the Xbox Insiders Program. The upcoming app store will rival Google and Apple near monopoly, alongside many other new upcoming app stores, but the one from Microsoft is probably the most notable.
Why do we care so much about this topic? Because competition like this is potentially great for us mobile gamers. That is not guaranteed though.
The competition could lead to better revenue for mobile developers which is important, especially for the smaller indie studios or solo-projects, that we see so many great games coming from. We are excited to see where this ends and whether or not the mobile gamers of the world will end up adapting these new stores!
