Back in the day, we used to call these “mods” (Warcraft 3, anyone? <3). But these days, the concept is gaining popularity, with players creating millions of games. And that’s exactly why Roblox made $2.6b last year, and Eggy Party is on track for $1b.

In my experience, most user-generated modes aren’t great - but let’s not forget that Dota started as a Warcraft mod. So maybe there’s hope.
