In today’s newsletter: GTA & Netflix rumors, a warning about Dungeon Hunter 6, fan-favorite games on sale, and Microsoft gets one step closer to finalizing its Activision Blizzard acquisition.
There’s barely anything we mobile gamers love to hate more than subscription services and platform-exclusive games. Right?
Yet, Netflix Games just reached 80m downloads, and they have - admittedly - been publishing some great indie gems, like Oxenfree and Lucky Luna.
But what if they started buying large IPs, just like we’ve seen Epic Games do on PC? What if…a game like GTA IV made its way to Netflix?
According to recent rumors, something like that could happen soon. And that begs the question; will there come a time when we embrace these services as long as they have enough quality games?
I don’t think we’re there yet, but over on PC, most gamers seem to enjoy Microsoft’s Game Pass subscription. So maybe we’re all just waiting for the right service to come along?
