🎮 Top Story: Microsoft's "Steam for Mobile" Coming in 2024?
"I don’t think this is multiple years away, I think this is sooner than that."
That's a quote from Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer, hinting that we might soon get an Xbox mobile store that competes with Google Play and Apple's App Store.
As revealed in documents from the Epic vs. Google lawsuit, Activision Blizzard has had plans to launch a "Steam of Mobile" for a while, undercutting Google and Apple's 30% revenue fee.
And now that it's all owned by Microsoft, an Xbox store is starting to make sense. After all, they control everything from CoD Mobile to Candy Crush and Diablo Immortal.
What this new store will mean for us players is yet to be seen. But I have a feeling Xbox might take a page from Epic's playbook and give away several games for free to attract users. So Microsoft... we're waiting.
