🎮 The offline indie game that beat Rooblox and Zenless Zone Zero!

Roblox is one of the most popular mobile games of all time, and MiHoYo’s Zenless Zone Zero had a massive launch in July.

But one game beat them all - a collection of offline games made by indie developer Moreno Maio, called “Offline Games - No WiFi Games”.

Moreno's game got almost 35 million downloads in July, against Roblox's measly 22m downloads and ZZZ's 12.6m. AAA studios beat by a solo developer? Aaawkward…

As Neil of mobilegamer.biz wrote, the success is probably due to a mix of great app store optimization, paid user-acquisition, and spot-on timing. But it's still surprising to see that a small dev can still beat the giants here in 2024.
