88% Play Mobile Board Games?🧐

🎮 Board Games as Mobile Games? 88% of you have played them!

A few weeks ago, the popular board game “Caverna” was ported to mobile, joining “Codenames”, “Robot Rally”, “Dominion”, “Wingspan”, and many other physical board games that have released on mobile in recent years.

And you seem to love them! Last week, 88% of you responded to our newsletter poll that you had played at least 1 digital board game, with 44% saying they had played 3+.

But most surprisingly, board games on mobile seem to do well despite most of them launching as paid premium titles - a model that has typically struggled in the free-to-play-dominated mobile market.

What can I say? People want their board games. And they want them… EVERYWHERE! Including on their phones. This has created a lovely loop where developers are incentivized to port their board games because they know people actually buy them.
