Bloons TD adopts Raid Shadow Legends 👀

🎮 Raid: Shadow Legends Dev Acquired by Parent Company of Bloons TD for $620.000.000

In 2021, the developer of the Bloons TD games, Ninja Kiwi, got bought up by Swedish media giant “MTG” for $142m. And now, MTG has also acquired Raid: Shadow Legends developers Plarium for a mindboggling $620m.

So I guess Bloons and Raid are siblings now, both adopted by the same parent company.

This is business as usual for MTG though, who also owns Innogames, Hutch (dev of racing games like F1 Clash), and several other mobile game developers.

A game being acquired by a large shareholder-owned group is rarely a good thing for us gamers, as these mega companies tend to prioritize profits above all else. But hey, at least they haven’t (yet) acquired the many actual good strategy games on mobile.
